Are you struggling with cravings? Does it seem that no matter how hard you try not to smoke, you just have to have another cigarette? There is an alternative...healthy and safe way to control your cravings! Click here for info.

Most smokers would agree that to quit smoking is probably one of the hardest things to do.
Whilst it is a rare person that can stop smoking easily, most of us need a lot of strength and support to kick this habit.
Different things work for different people and there are as many stop smoking tips as there are people who have stopped smoking successfully, so read on for some tips that may just be the ones that help you.
- NOW is the BEST time to quit! You can say you want to quit as much as you like…but talking isn’t doing. Don’t keep making excuses to put it off!
- Unfortunately, nicotine is a very addictive substance, therefore when you do stop smoking, you ARE going to suffer withdrawal symptoms and cravings. This is part and parcel of quitting. Try to do your best to understand that you will have cravings and plan ahead on what you will do when you get them.
- If the cravings do become difficult to overcome…take a cigarette packet out and actually read the health warning message. Look at the pictures and really think about what your life would be like if you were to contract that particular disease. Imagine, how you would look or feel and the impact it would have on your loved ones. Bottom line is, that if you continue to smoke there is a fair chance you WILL get sick.
- Tell yourself you are not a smoker…you don’t smoke. Imagine yourself smoke free!
- Take up some form of exercise…this is a great alternative to smoking. Go for a walk, take the kids to the park, generally become more active.
- If necessary, use NRT (nicotine replacement therapy). It’s ok to say it’s tough…it’s ok to say you’re struggling. Give yourself the help you need and if patches or gum help…then USE them!
- If you do give in and have a cigarette…DO NOT beat yourself up over it…just re-focus and start again. 2 steps forward and 1 back is way better than going backwards all the time.
Try to remember these tips, especially at those times when you are feeling weak and likely to succumb to a cigarette. Stay positive and committed and you WILL succeed…
I KNOW you will!
